Meet The Team

Lots of people do lots of wonderful things at The Hub Church.

The Team.

Want to get to know our team, the best way is to come along and meet us.
But to start with have a look below to see who's who.

Dan Drew

Church Leader

Dan oversees the vision and day to day running of The Hub Church. He has been married to Alex for 11 years, which is wonderful. He enjoys playing team sports, football and hockey, and is known by his various teams for not passing. He grew up in Rochester, Kent where he met his best mate Dave, also on this page, the first ever non Drew member of The Hub Church.

Dan has spent most of his adult life at university, he has a BA in Youth Work and Theology, a different BA in Contextual Theology and an MA in Leadership & Theology. Don't hold it against him, but Dan is a big Spurs fan. But most of all he loves being part of a church where he can invite his friends to come along.

Alex Drew

Church Leader

Alex is married to Dan and alongside working part-time, she leads and guides the vision of The Hub Church with him. Together they have a daughter Isla who would happily eat strawberries at every meal, loves eating the sand at the beach and has the best nose scrunching smile.

Alex studied Education with Drama and English at Cambridge University, and has since done a few theology courses to keep her brain ticking over. Alex works as the Director of National Work for Youthscape. She is passionate about giving the church confidence, skills and resources to reach out and come alongside the young people in their community.

Alex enjoys leisurely pancake breakfasts with friends and walks in the sunshine and by the sea. She loves the sense of family that you find at The Hub Church and the invitation to come as you are. She’s grateful for the freedom to do things differently and the chance to meet new people and watch what God does in their lives. It's been an exciting journey so far…

Martha Inch

Assistant Church Leader

Being an Assistant Church Leader is never boring, and Martha’s job is definitely no exception. With the morning community being her main focus, it is no surprise that you will most-likely find Martha having lots of fun with some of the younger hub members. Recently moved to Hitchin, Martha has just started training to become a Vicar.

Doing an MA in Theology means Martha gets to use big words and pretend to know what they mean. Getting active and running around is a hobby of Martha’s and you can find equipment for various sports hidden in the boot of her car. Martha loves seeing people grow in their relationship with Jesus and having loads of fun along the way.

Helen Neville

Sunday Nights Leader

Helen leads our Sunday evening community as well as taking care of the Hub’s admin, which means she’s usually either working on a spreadsheet or in the pub. She loves when new people at the Hub become part of the family and seeing them deepen their relationship with God.

Helen has been coming to The Hub Church since 2015, when she became a Christian on one of our Alpha courses and she has no regrets so far. She is currently studying Theology, Ministry and Mission at St. Mellitus College; luckily, she likes reading theology books so it all works out well. She also works part time for ‘Reaching New People’, the St Albans Diocese Fresh Expressions project.

Dave Holmes

Media Co-ordinator

Best friends since babies, Dave has known Dan for most of his life. Due to his parent’s move to Yorkshire, Dave ended up in Hitchin as a trip to the other side of the M25 was adventurous enough for one move.

Since the big move, Dan has used Dave’s creative intelligence to make everything and anything pretty. From websites to slide shows, Dave’s artistic flare can be found trademarked across the church’s designs. Dave, a pioneer of The Hub Church alongside Dan, has seen the church grow and flourish from day one. Finding himself not only a wife, but a family, through the love and support of The Hub Church, Dave would definitely call this home.
